Study Summary:

This is a Site Preparedness and On-Going Community Activities for a Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Clinical Trial

Purpose:  To prepare for the implementation of a pre-exposure prophylaxis clinical trial for women at higher risk of HIV exposure and to involve civil society/community stakeholders in the research process.

Design: A qualitative descriptive study, including community mapping, stakeholder analysis, observations, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions.  Activities will be conducted in two phases:  a preparedness phase prior to clinical trial initiation and an on-going phase after the clinical trial has begun.
