Established in 1994

Location

Southern part of Harare, housed within the Zimbabwe National Family Planning Centre (ZNFPC) at Harare Central Hospital, a tertiary referral centre. Situated 17Km from the core administrative office site, Spilhaus CRS target population is from Primary Health Clinics in the high density suburbs of Harare which are within a 4 to 27Km radius and are all accessible by public transport.

The ZNFPC complex offers a wide range of reproductive health services including contraceptive services, voluntary counseling and testing of HIV, fertility investigations and treatment and cervical cancer screening and treatment of CIN.

• Colposcopy Room has state of the art machine, monitor, digital imaging equipment, colposcopy couch and air conditioning unit.
• The onsite lab is equipped to perform wet mount tests, rapid HIV tests, pregnancy tests and specimen preparation for transfer to the Central Lab.
• Onsite pharmacy has own product and medication storage rooms, air conditioning unit and has a backup generator.
• Data Management rooms have fax machines, and computers with internet and e-mail access.
• Back-up generator.

• 6 rooms total, comprising :  1 doctor’s room, 1 kitchen (shared with HPTN 035), 2 counselors’ rooms, 1 interview room, 1 clinicians’ room, 1 examination room.

2). SEKE SOUTH CRS

Location

In the building of the Seke South Polyclinic. The clinic caters for all the different disciplines of primary health care including general paediatrics (mainly immunizations and nutrition), antenatal care, voluntary counseling and testing of HIV, general medicine, STI diagnosis and management.

Seke South CRS is located in the heart of Chitungwiza’s low income urban community. The site is surrounded by 3 other polyclinics and 1 tertiary hospital which are within 5km from the site. This CRS is located 30km from the administrative offices.

Study Location

The study is being carried out in Mutoko district of Mashonaland East
Province, some 143km north-east of Harare along the Nyamapanda highway.

6). ZENGEZA  3 CRS

Established in 2002

Location

Zengeza 3 CRS is located within the Dental Unit at Zengeza 3 polyclinic in Chitungwiza, about 30km south of the UZ-UCSF Core administrative offices.  Situated in Zengeza 3 high density suburb, Zengeza 3 polyclinic clinic is the primary health care centre which caters for the surrounding high density suburbs of Zengeza 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, all within a 0-4km radius.
